Succussion
Succussion is a very important step in the potentisation procedure. Not only does succession ensure the water, alcohol and mother tincture will be mixed properly but it also energizes the dilution. When the remedy is vigorously shaken at every step it makes an imprint from the mother tincture in the alcohol water combination. Succession strengthens the bonds between the molecules. The more it is successed the deeper the imprint will be. Therefore, the higher the dilution ( more times it is successed ) the stronger or more potent it is. The body sees this imprinted energy as information that will stimulate or activate the body’s natural defense system to help restore the vital force.
During the process of the preparation of a remedy, 1 drop of the mother tincture is added to 9, 99, or 999 drops of water. This is called dilution. The remedy can be “infinitesimally” diluted. This will only be true if Succussion is done. Between the dilutions the remedy is succussed (vigorously shaken) between 10 (minimum) and 100 (preferred) times. It ensures the remedy will be properly mixed. This is an important step because it allows the remedy to be active even if no original molecule from the mother tincture remains in the mixture. It is said to energize the dilution. Information from the mother tincture molecules are transferred to the water molecules. There is proof of this because the water molecules change shape. This can be seen with by the diverse structure of ice crystals. If succussion is not done the mixture will not become a “remedy.”
