Bach Flowers

Bach flower remedies are a branch of homeopathy created by Edward Bach while he was retired from being a homeopath. He agreed that the illness was not only showed by its physical symptoms. It differs from homeopathy by its preparation(potentization) method. His theory was that disease are of mental origin. He created 38 remedies from flowers, trees and special waters. Like homeopathy each remedy is associated with symptoms that are prescribed on similar. The difference is, bach flowers are only based on the emotions(mental) instead of mental, emotional, and physical. The most known is the rescue remedy. Referred to as the 39th bach flower. It is a combination of 5 separate bach flowers. Although, it is twice the strength of a single flower(4 drops in a 30 ml bottle). Its ingredients are as follows:

-Star of Bethlehem>trama, numbness,shock,grief,fright

-Rock Rose> Terror, panic

-Impatients>pain,irratibility,tension,agitation,impatience

-Cherry Plum> fear of losing control, hysteria

-Clematis> not completely there, stunned, tendency to pass out.

It is used for first aid treatment for emergencies(while waiting for medical assistance), life threatening situations and stressful events. Examples of it’s uses are traumatic situations, before an accident, serious news, severe upset, etc... These situations ideally shock and paralyze the energetic system. The mind has the tendency to withdraw itself from the body. The body is left unable to activate its self healing energy. Rescue remedy removes the energetic block and allows the bodies regulatory system to initiate the necessary measures for emergencies.

It is available in a liquid to be taken by drops. It is suggested that 4 drops be taken as frequently as required. It can be used by adding 4 drops to a cup of water and to be sipped until emotions calm. It is also available as a cream. In the cream the bach flower remedy Crab Apple is added for it’s cleansing qualities. It is safe and effective for everyone to use including animals. If the rescue remedy is used when not needed(or for any other bach flower) no harm will occur. The body knows what it needs and what to disregard and ignore.

Other examples, more in-depth, of when rescue remedy may be used are: for someone running a marathon, when a pregnant ladies water breaks her and her husband can take it, after someone gets in a car accident, after someone is told about a death in the family, etc. Rescue remedy has countless uses.
